Never easy to be fully satisfied in this business I guess. I ended up removing it because i was getting a lot of flickering in the clouds and in certain angles they simple disappear. What scares me off a bit with this one is you're recommended to use Reshade for best effect and I'm not a fan of post-processing stuff. Haven't had the time to test it yet though and at this point I'm not even sure if I'll end up using this package or TheUltimate mod. That's kind of you but I think I'm good because I already downloaded the beta 2 file which seems complete. Maximus if recall correctly you only need the beta2 files, but I can check later when got home! Ik 4. There are three of them and not very clear which one to get to have the latest and greatest version. Problem is XP11 then looks more like XP10 which we do not want I checked this one out yesterday but wasn't sure which file to download. It does give some options to change the look of the sim easily. In the developer menu you can select sky color presets. You can boost contrast and saturation much more if you like. Here is a comparison of a scenery view with and without Reshade using subtle settings.

When TURNING OFF Skymaxx Pro V4 plugin I gain 30 FPS!!ġ4 to 44 FPS!! So what on earth is this problem with the plugin! I have everything maxed out! But these clouds ruin everything. Is there anything I can do to get more vibrant colors and less of the grey haze effect that is going on in vanilla xp11? I heard about xenviro and reshade and stuff, but what exactly will give the best effect for least effort? There are several lua scripts that take care of the haze.Īll of them seem to work pretty well, actually. So the real question is what the heck makes it always go slow! I have an overclocked 6700K, and I do not see all the resources consumed? I installed 32GB RAM and have a MSI Geforce 1080 GTX 8GB GDDR5 card just for XPX, XI and entire simming. Most important: have fun, and don't add too much to the sim at the same time, X-Plane is completely different to setup and maintain then FSX and P3D. shadows on scenery is heavy on resources, try reducing (or in x-plane 11, disable) this. I can not comment on SMP settings as I do not own it, but when setup wrong, I read that it can bring down performance on any system. Anything between 20 and 40 is more realistic, and with the haze effect in XP11 it looks very nice. 100 miles sounds nice, but will kill any system. when setting up weather, keep visibility realistic. Turn Threaded optimization off in nVidia control panel! Your system should run both versions just fine on highest AA settings. Perhaps I am missing something with those damn clouds? I thought this sim might be the future, but I am slowly turning away from it again. This is insane.Īs soon as clouds are rendered into the sim the performance drops like a brick in X-plane! Please explain it to me! Ridiculous (as the clouds are crappier than FSX ASN icw. Before cloud generation I get 30-40 fps, there after I get around 14-20 fps. But these do not impact the performance as such. HDD: 1.5TB WD Green Caviar 7200RPM (installed XPX and XPXI on this)Īn extra note: I have w2xp sceneries installed.

Such clouds I expect after all these years in X-plane as well!! Such superb weather! But there is simply nothing to find.īut what is the issue on the performance? I am a FSX veteran and I adore ActiveSkyNext very much. But found afterwards that Skymaxx Pro V4 was nothing good at all. I bought Skymaxx Pro V4 because I do not like X-enviro 2D blankets. I thought a weather addon might be the solution as I read many positive comments about it. As soon I load them the Sim drops 10's of FPS down making it unplayable. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the performance I get in these sims.
